A METROPOLITAN QUIETUDE :
Difficult to imagine I know, but this actually the atmosphere you get in Milan. Different from other metropolis, you can be sure about that, the City living affects your mood, giving you a peaceful sensation.
This is one of the many trips I took to Milan, I used to live there for a couple of years, so the city It’ s not a new discovery for me, but a pleasant rediscovery I have to admit ! Things changed quite a lot since I left in 2012, and I think the EXPO 2015 is responsible of this big improvement.
This time the trip was a consequence of the Ticket I received at Christmas from my boyfriend MUSE -DRONES WORLD TOUR– live at Assago – best live performance you can imagine,my heart still beats fast, read the article to figure out what I mean.
We arrived late in the morning to this lovely B&B we just discovered Bed and Breakfast da Mara Viale Caldara 22,Extremely well decorated, perfectly itemized. The owner, a very helpful lady, treated us with gentleness, she hosted us in a bigger room just because it was available when we arrived and prepared breakfast on the table every morning.
We had a nice walk to center as soon as we arrived, we were actually pretty close to the Duomo of Milan, it was a sunny day,and with this warm welcome we enjoyed a little lunch at California Bakery , famous for delicious cakes and exquisite sandwiches.
We spent the day after the concert wandering around, without a direction from the Duomo until the Navigli District, such a charming district, where you can have a pleasant walk by day and an amusing aperitif in the evening. Both the canals are surrounded by several cafes, bars, restaurants, design shops, art galleries etc.
This is the most vibrant part of the city, where you can actually live an exiting night, full of young people, inside a vintage atmosphere, the old and the new is gathered together. You can easily reach this position taking the green line with metro until the stop called ” Porta Genova ”, but if you want a more enchanting path take an old tram, it actually feels like having a date with the city.
The rest of the day, we walked our way back, we visited ”Brera District”,the most evocative (for my opinion!) it was once populated by artists and bohemians, you can quickly recognize the ambiance. We actually made a fast visit, just the time to eat a heavenly ice cream from AMORINO one of my favorite stops every time I’m in Brera!
Spent the rest of the day visiting the beautiful ”Castello Sforzesco ”, no need to tell this was the perfect place to conclude our little journey inside this marvelous city.
